At Seagry Stud we seek to breed world class dressage horses with outstanding temperaments. The quality of the mare is vital and for this reason we also use Embryo Transfer to produce foals from our currently competing mares. We really focus on quality over quantity which is why we only have a few very select breeding horses. From a group of ‘Foundation’ mares we produce offspring with the potential to compete at the highest level. We do not stand stallions at the stud because we do not wish to constrain our choices. We only use world class stallions and combine proven sires that are known to ‘Stamp’ their progeny, along with the very best of the new generation of young stallions.
Because we know our mares very well, we are able to select sires that complement what we have and progressively improve on this. It is not easy to find a horse with that “Something Special” but that is exactly what we are focused on producing. We are confident that any horse we breed will be capable of doing whatever you want.
Amy (Seagry Firstamour) qualified for the BD Nationals in the Inter 1 Gold and scored a strong 65.18% with only two combinations scoring over 70%. I know I am biased but they looked stunning and did a beautiful test. This qualified them for Saturdays Inter 1 Freestyle where they scored a 65.8%.
Seagry St-Emilion (Millie) is a 5 year old mare by the prized stallion Secret. She a really special young mare that we have really taken our time with. She has a super frame and excellent natural paces. She is light in the hand and forward going. Although not yet competed she is showing a lot of potential. This gorgeous 7 year old BHHS boy, Seagry Viceroy (Vitalis/For Romance) qualified for his first ever Nationals and went in at the deep-end in the PSG Gold. It was very possibly the hottest class in the Championships. In only his 6th ever PSG he scored over 68% for 15th place. There was just 1.7% between 5th and 15th. So proud of this special boy. His next outing is at Aintree HP show where he will be doing 2 PSG Gold classes and his first ever Inter 1. Quite something for a 7 year old.
'Stephie' is a gorgeous young horse. At 5 years of age she already 17.00hh. We are in the early stages of producing this young lady but she is already showing great promise. We aim to use the coming winter to continue her development...A super project for Abbie to enjoy.
Seagry Toto Bella has found a new home. She was an embryo transfer by Totilas out of Seagry Firstamour. She is 6 years old and is the most stunning young mare and being a direct daughter of the most famous dressage stallion in the world, Totilas, out of the Advanced dressage mare who is the 2022 National Champion at AM Freestyle, we have high expectations for her.
